The 2023 growing season in Bolgheri was shaped by a cold winter and relentless rainfall, followed by a severe outbreak of downy mildew that devastated yields by 20%. Only the estates that made the hardest sacrifices — ruthless selection, uncompromising standards — produced wines of true distinction. Tenuta San Guido was one of them.

The result is a Sassicaia that defies its own legend. Famously guarded in its youth, the 2023 is unusually open and expressive, offering rare immediate pleasure without sacrificing its trademark elegance and cellar longevity. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate awarded it a perfect 100 points.
